Discovery

We begin by listening to the customer’s dreams, tastes, budget, and about how they use their kitchens for cooking, eating, entertaining, and just hanging out. Then, we sketch and show the customer a rough design.

Design

Once we know we’re on track, we use our computer aided design technology to create a detailed design. We try to think of everything; dimensions customized for every use, storage for specific appliances (or coloring books), methods to keep the most used items close by, and tricks for hiding the mid-meal mess. In this phase, there is always back and forth communication with our customer. We carefully consider every suggestion; advising against changes only when we know from experience when something could be problematic.

When our customer has approved this detailed layout; it is time to choose choose counters, colors, knobs, pulls and handles; what to stain and what to paint; moldings, and much more. Often, we do this in our factory showroom where customers can see and touch everything, and where we walk through the process so that it’s not overwhelming.

Critical Checkpoint

Before we manufacture, we produce a final rendering that shows exactly what the design will look like finished with all of the chosen parts. This is the test of how it all fits together. And if it doesn’t, no worries, we tinker until it’s perfect.

“When I bring Vartanian Custom Cabinets into a new home construction or remodeling project, I am always completely confident that they will design a kitchen that is exactly what my customer wants. That’s because of the process they use to really understand how the customer will live in the space.” — Bill Laplante, Custom Homebuilder
